Preschool Sessions

Our preschool sessions run Monday to Friday and we provide care and education for children aged 2 to 4 years.

The sessions are 3 hours long, and structured so that the children know what to expect from their session. We organize our sessions so that the children can choose from, and work at, a range of activities.

We run sessions Monday-Friday, 9am-midday and midday-3pm.  Children attending all day (9am-3pm) will require a packed lunch.

We have various areas which the children can choose to explore – puzzle tables, dress up/role play area, sand or water play, construction area, a physical area such as a climbing frame or tunnels, and an arts and crafts table which we try to encourage every child to take part in. The children have free play where they can choose their own area, followed by tidy up time, then the children sit down on the carpet for a story or talk while snack time is prepared.

We make snacks a social time at which the children eat together at a table. We plan the snacks so that they provide the children with healthy and nutritious food. Do tell us about your child’s dietary needs and we will make sure that these are met.

We then gather all the children together to take part in an activity such as singing or group games, encouraging the children to learn to sit still, wait their turn, and learn to work as part  of a group.
The children have the option to stay inside and play or for part of the time play in our outdoor area on bikes or other outdoor toys. We give them this option whatever the weather, so please remember wellington boots in bad weather.

Fees – £11.50 per session, payable at the beginning of each half term.

From the beginning of the first full term following your child’s third birthday you will be entitled to use your 15 or 30 hours government funded childcare with us (or part of it). We also accept 2 year funding.

If you would like to bring your child for a free taster session at playgroup please contact us to arrange a date.  You would be asked to stay with your child for the session, giving you the opportunity to get a feel for our setting and get to know the staff.
